چکیده
The presence of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene compounds (BTEX) in the breathing air outside inside buildings is one most significant problems related to human health today. This study was performed determine concentration BTEX pollutants indoor environments. PhoCheck used detect compounds. In this study, (BTEX pollutant) assessed four spaces, including restaurants, laundries, hair salons, photocopying centers. results showed that average all searched higher than recommended limit Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). carcinogenic risk assessment by benzene ethylbenzene show 2153 × 10−4 913 10−5 respectively. HQ values for toluene were 1.397 0.505, respectively, indicating exposure alone may have adverse effects on health, while has no effects. hazard index (HI) one. An HI value means two contaminants we breathe health. As a result, necessary control measures should be taken prevent unfavorable these pollutants.

Cancer Risk Assessment Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene (BTEX) in the Production of Insulation Bituminous
Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene and Xylene are volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with approximately similar physical and chemical characteristics. Benzene and Ethyl-benzene are known carcinogen as well as they affect the circulatory, nervous, and reproductive and respiratory systems. Toluene and Xylene also damage the nervous and reproductive systems. The main purpose of this study is to determ...
متن کاملSorption of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene (btex) Compounds by Hectorite Clays Exchanged with Aromatic Organic Cations
-Adsorptive-type organoclays, where hydrocarbons adsorb directly to the siloxane surfaces, were studied to find new organic cations and to determine the parameters that produce effective sorbents. Organoclays were prepared from hectorite by cation exchange with small, aromatic organic cation salt solutions. Trimethylphenylammonium (TMPA) chloride was obtained and iodide salts of commerciallyuna...
متن کاملEfficient visible light photocatalysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) in aqueous solutions using supported zinc oxide nanorods
Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) are some of the common environmental pollutants originating mainly from oil and gas industries, which are toxic to human as well as other living organisms in the ecosystem. Here we investigate photocatalytic degradation of BTEX under visible light irradiation using supported zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods grown on glass substrates using a microwave a...
متن کاملBTEX in indoor air of waterpipe cafés: Levels and factors influencing their concentrations.
BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene) concentrations, factors affecting their levels, and the exposure risks related to these compounds were studied in waterpipe (Ghalyun/Hookah) cafés of Ardabil city in Islamic Republic of Iran. 81 waterpipe cafés from different districts of Ardabil city were selected and their ambient air was monitored for BTEX compounds. Air samples were taken fro...
متن کاملPhytoremediation of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene contaminated air by D. deremensis and O. microdasys plants
BACKGROUND People usually spent about 90% of their time indoors, which are probably more polluted than outside the buildings. High levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are known as causes of sick building syndrome. The present study was designed to determine the quantitative effects of some plants to improve the quality of the environmental air. RESULTS D. deremensis and O. microdasys ...
